Mulch Technician
reports to
Operations Manager
Rockscape is seeking a reliable and hardworking Mulch Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for operating our mulch blower to efficiently install and refresh mulch at various job sites. When the blower is not in use, the successful candidate will work as a Crew Member on our hardscape or softscape/maintenance team, assisting with various landscaping tasks. This is a dynamic role suited for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and being part of a high-performing team.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience driving a truck and trailer required
- Previous experience operating a mulch blower or similar equipment is an asset.
- Experience in landscaping (hardscape or softscape) is preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team and independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
- Experience maneuvering a trailer through various terrain.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
Work schedule
Full time. Salary position based on 35 hours per week (average, with more hours during season, fewer hours in winter).

Duties & Responsibilities

- Maintain and operate the mulch blower for new mulch installations and re-mulching projects.
- Ensure precise, efficient, and clean mulch application according to project specifications.
- Load and unload mulch into the blower truck, ensuring proper material handling.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance on the blower truck to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers, crew leaders, crew members, and clients to ensure quality service and project completion.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Transport and handle materials and equipment as required.
